Katie G. Cannon is a womanist theologian and was the first African-American woman ordained in the United Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). She received an M.Div. from Johnson C. Smith Seminary in Atlanta, GA, and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
