Women Crossing Worlds
WATER extends around the world from Silver Spring, Maryland to Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Uruguay, Brazil, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba….wherever people are struggling for justice from a feminist religious perspective.
WCW was designed to bring together women of South and North America to study, celebrate, and strategize together to effect new ways of “doing theology.” After many reciprocal visits, deep relationships with sister groups were established in Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Brazil, and Uruguay sharing theological technical assistance among women’s groups.
The Latest From Women Crossing Worlds
In October 2016, Mary E. Hunt joined colleagues from the Cátedra de Teologia Feminista at Iberoamericana University in Mexico City. There, she spoke in Spanish about “La teología hoy: Desde la liberation al cuidado cósmico / Theology Today: From Liberation to Cosmic Care” and had a lively meeting with the women of Cátedra and Ibero’s religion faculty that focused on feminist theology and implications for ministry.
Mary also led a workshop on “Elige la vida: Justicia Sexual y Relacional para todos: Choose Life: Sexual and Relational Justice for All,” sponsored by La Asociación Mexicana de Reflexión Teológica Feminista, which more than fifty people attended.
