April 17 Where Are They Now?: WATER Interns

Annabeth Roeschley

Annabeth started her WATER work as an intern in 2007. She made herself right at home, even staying on for a second year. When it was time for her to move on, Anna chose to continue her work for social justice. She joined DASH (District Alliance for Safe Housing) as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a two-year residential program. She works alongside survivors and their families to secure safe housing and to support them in meeting their goals. She accompanies them on the journey towards healing from trauma. It is not an easy job, but Annabeth finds it to be hugely rewarding: “It is incredible, exciting, exhausting work—I have deep admiration for the survivors I am honored to know.”
