WATER Welcomes New Staff Associates!

The WATER office is getting busier with three new Staff Associates for the 2017-18 year. Hannah (center) stayed on for a second year at WATER through the Loretto Volunteer Program. She is joined by Heureuse (left) an M.Div. student at Wesley Theological Seminary and Janaya (right) from the Mennonite Voluntary Service. Learn more about them below!

Hannah Dorfman

Hannah Dorfman is a year-long staff associate at WATER through the Loretto Volunteer Program. She graduated in 2015 from Tufts University in Boston, MA with a double major in Religion and American Studies. After graduating college, Hannah was an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer at a community development organization in Boston. She is excited to spend another year at WATER!

Janaya Sachs

Janaya Sachs is a year-long staff associate at WATER through the Mennonite Voluntary Service. She graduated from Eastern Mennonite University in 2017 where she was a chemistry major with a minor in religion. While at EMU, she worked in Campus Ministries as a Pastoral Assistant. She hopes to learn more about the impact of feminist theology on the lives of women of faith and looks forward to all she will engage with in the coming year. Welcome Janaya!

Heureuse Kaj

Heureuse Kaj is from the Democratic Republic of Congo in central Africa. She is a graduate of Africa University with a B.A. in Economics. She served as a Global Mission Fellow with the United Methodist Church through the General Board of Global Ministries in Japan for two years, working with women and children who were victims of domestic violence and human trafficking. It was a life-transforming experience that strengthened her call to social justice ministry. Heureuse is currently working on her Master of Divinity degree in the Missional Fellows Program at Wesley Theological Seminary. She looks forward to her learning experience at WATER. WATER welcomes her warmly!
